The Glen Rose-Somervell County Chamber plans its annual award banquet on Tuesday March 14 at 7 30 p.m. at Glen Lake Methodist Camp dining room. Awards include Outstanding Citizen Outstanding Farmer and Optimist Award for outstanding boy with special recognition for the girls basketball team and coach Paul Schuelke. WBAP editor Calvin Pigg will speak about a five nation Far East and Southwest Pacific trip with Ezra Taft Benson and show photos. Tickets available from chamber members or at the door with adults 1 50 and children 75 cents.

The Glen Rose girls basketball team lost 53 39 to Moulton in the regional final after winning 50 20 in the first game. The squad of 14 played through the final quarter and finished the season among Texas eighth best. The 18th Judicial District Court met Monday March 6 with Judge Penn J Jackson presiding. Three men were sentenced to prison in Huntsville, with six charges including murder without malice, burglary, forgery, jail break, and theft over 50 dollars.

Top Stanley saleswoman earns Easter outfit in Ft Worth branch

School Lunchroom Burglary Nets Milk and Ice Cream
Thieves burgled a school lunchroom over the weekend and stole milk and ice cream. The break in was discovered Monday morning, with no other items reported missing.
Funeral for F S Williams in Glen Rose church
Funeral services for F S Williams 89 were held at Glen Rose Methodist Church at 3 p m. Officiating ministers were Rev John Basham and Rev Marcus Chan. He died March 4 1961 in Arlington Memorial Hospital Arlington Texas. He was a lumber dealer and helped build the present Methodist Church in Glen Rose. He is survived by two sons Frank and Fred both of Dallas and four grandchildren. Interment in Auburn Cemetery Ellis County.

Joe Audon Gutierrez aged 20 was arrested Saturday and charged with indecent exposure. The case was tried Monday in Judge Temple Sumner's County Court. Gutierrez was found guilty and sentenced to the maximum $100 fine.
