Second Primary Election Tomorrow In Somervell County
Voters return to the polls tomorrow to pick nominees for the General Election. In Somervell County only state races appear on the ballot with a large turnout expected due to governor and lieutenant governor runoffs. John Connally faces Don Yarborough in the governor race. James Turman and Preston Smith run for lieutenant governor. Waggoner Carr and Tom Beavley contest attorney general. Joe Pool and Woodrow Bean seek the congressman at large seat. Polls open 8 AM to 7 PM with precinct 1 voting at the Fire Hall.

The Meridian Liverock Commission Company at Meridian Texas sold 250 cattle with prices ranging from 8 to 26.50 dollars and 610 head of sheep. Good to choice butcher calves brought 24 to 26.50, stocker calves 23 to 24.50, cows with calves 150 to 207 per pair, and stocker cows 17 to 19. Feeder lambs sold 10 to 12, no fat lamb market established.

Out of town relatives and friends gathered for the graduation last Friday. Somervell Home Demonstration Clubs May Luncheon Update
The County Home Demonstration Clubs held their annual May luncheon at the Community Center with H. D. C. members bringing covered dishes. They welcomed new agent Mrs Barbara Gill and district agent Miss Lane. A council meeting on May 16th featured twelve members and the new agent. A leader training on June 21 from 1 30 to 38 30 at the Community Center on Storage in the Home is planned. Each club will hold a miscellaneous sale on June 16 at the courthouse square selling baked goods and handiwork to fund the council budget.
