Ancient Flint Burin and Heated Cave Bed Found

Archaeologists recovered a burin flint tool and a near by knife fragment from a cave site. The remains imply the person made a sleeping pit with heated stones for warmth, a practice recalled in early days for cold nights. No gold is reported in the caves, but the finder notes a story older than recorded history.

A Glen Rose commencement drew a large crowd for an evening of tests and praise. Supt. Leach handed diplomas to twenty high school graduates and over sixty grammar students. Rev. J. B. Miss Alece Alsup Visits Glen Rose After Shanghai Return

Miss Alece Alsup formerly in China visited Glen Rose at George P. Snyder sanitarium. She was interned in Shanghai for seven months by the Japanese and returned to the United States in December 1943 aboard the S S Gripholm with about 200 missionaries. She is visiting her mother in Fort Worth and plans to resume work as soon as conditions permit.

The American Legion Auxiliary held a poppy sale last Saturday directed by Mrs Blair and Mrs Ratliff. A cross and poppy display brightened Clover Farm Store. All poppies sold, total receipts $50.48 with net $47.98 going to the rehabilitation fund for disabled soldiers.
