Miss Ann Brannon daughter of Mr and Mrs C W Brannon married Glenn O Neal in a Fort Worth ceremony last Friday night. Rev Anderson of Cottonwood Baptist church officiated. The couple will reside in Fort Worth.

Glen Rose Public Schools set August 31 start date

The Glen Rose Public Schools plan to open August 31 for student registrations and begin classes September 4. The board approved labor and renovation bids for the Junior High upper floor and expects completion in summer 1957 if funds allow. Four teaching positions are needed including English and band.

Three Glen Rose Chamber representatives joined Granbury Chamber members and Brazos River Authority directors on a Brazos watershed tour. The chartered bus started in Houston with stops at Whitney and Granbury. J. E. Ward was among board members on the trip. financing discussions covered proposed dams at Bee Mountain and De Cordova. Flora Meaders Funeral Held in Glen Rose

Funeral services for Flora Turrentine Meaders were conducted Friday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Roy Johnson and Rev. George Greebon officiating. Born June 19, 1874 in Fayetteville Arkansas, she lived in Glen Rose after moving from Breckenridge. Survived by three sons and five daughters, 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. interment in Breckenridge cemetery.

Andrew J Harwell obituary services held in Oden Chapel

Funeral services for Andrew J Harwell known as Andy were conducted at Oden Chapel on July 21 by Rev Court ney of Walnut Springs Baptist Church. He was born May 10 1883 and died in Wichita Falls on July 19 Survivors include his widow of Oden two daughters two sons and eight grandchildren with multiple siblings and a large Brownwood area family Brister Funeral Home directed the service.

Georges Creek Pioneer Mrs Myres Dies at 81

Mrs Willie E Myres 81 died Saturday at her Georges Creek home. Born in Johnson County to W H Love and Mary Johnson Love, she married Carlos Myres on February 6 1893 celebrating their 63rd anniversary this year. Survived by seven sons including Mike Cleburne and Ernest Ft Worth, with services held Sunday at Georges Creek Tabernacle led by Rev Van Morrison. Mullin Reunion Brings Family Gathering on Brazos River

The Mullin family held their seventh reunion on July 22 at the T. T. Mullins place along the Brazos River. About 170 attended from Arkansas, Oklahoma, and 20 Texas locations. Loyd Mullin and Fain Horton spoke during the event, with Boyd Mullin giving the blessing. guests included four older generation members and relatives from Nemo, Cleburne, Plainview, Glen Rose, and Houston area.

Oden Homecoming Held With Fellowship and Reunions

The 22nd annual Oden Homecoming took place on the fourth Sunday in July with a morning service. J C Smith led the opening song Amaz ing Grace and C E Rhodey led a song as Rev Anderson of Cottonwood Baptist delivered the message. Luncheon followed under the Tabernacle and afternoon singing concluded the event with many attendees visiting and promising to return next year.
