Cattle Voting Starts on July Beef Board Plans
Diane Gibson of the Somervell County ASCS reminds beef producers who registered in June that they may vote July 5 to 15 on the beef research and information order. If at least half vote and two thirds approve, a beef board of up to 68 producers will be appointed to fund beef research via a 0.5 percent live animal value assessment. Ballots may be cast in person or by mail with requests due by July 11.

Mrs Vaughn Becomes New CPS Office Clerk
Gerald Wood district manager for Community Public Service announces Mrs Wilbur Vaughn has been hired to replace Mrs Frank Laramore as clerk in the CPS office. Book Fair Friday Planned by Alpha Lambda Eta at Bandstand
Members of Alpha Lambda Eta announced readiness for a Book Fair to be held at the bandstand on the courthouse square Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. All books will sell for 25 cents or less and proceeds go to the Somervell County Library.
