Crime spree ends with Red Barn robbery near Stephenville
A Denton County crime spree beginning near Lewisville culminated in Stephenville with an armed Red Barn robbery. Three suspects James Vernon Mitchell 24 David Wayne Elliott 22 and a 16 year old Grand Prairie juvenile were captured after abducting Michael David Goode and committing multiple robberies from Coppell to Cleborne before robbing the Red Barn store and detaining owner Mrs Osborn. The pair are jailed on aggravated robbery charges and the juvenile awaits adult designation.

Vara Pleads Guilty In DWI Case In County Court
Joe M Vara 61 of Walnut Springs pleaded guilty to two Driving While Intoxicated charges in County Court. Judge Jack Cathey imposed one week in jail 350 dollar fine and 51.80 court costs with a one year license suspension. Kenneth R Easley also pled guilty to a DWI charge fined 50 plus 51.80 costs with six month license suspension and 30 day jail term probated after his arrest by Highway Patrolman Bob Brock.

Hico Man Jailed In Traffic Case
Tommy Dale Murray age 25 of Hico was arrested Saturday afternoon by Sheriff Frank Laramore on a warrant charging involuntary manslaughter after his wife died in a July crash in front of Reynolds Funeral Home. Patrolman Bob Brock filed the charge after investigating the one car accident. Murray is held on $5,000 bond.
