Sheriff Paul Bone learned Monday evening that LeRoy Moore, 26, one of four Somervell County Jail escapees, was arrested in Oakland California. Moore faces three burglary charges in California and forgery cases locally while awaiting transfer to Oklahoma. Also captured were Bobby Stanley and Albert Lambeth in Auburn, and Johnny Hill in Stockton, with Hill to be tried for burglary.

Mrs Ida T Lewis age 79 longtime Somervell County resident died in the local hospital. She is survived by brother Lee Taliaferro of Rainbow Texas and sisters Mrs Dizie Snyder and Mrs Mary Parker of Hope New Mexico. Rev Joe Stephens conducted services at Glen Rose Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Squaw Creek Cemetery. The CSO gathered Monday night at the Glen Rose High School auditorium with a large turnout of carcom and teachers. Mrs. R L Flippin from Rainbow Church led the devotional. The Rhythm Band, from two first grade classes under Neville Milam and Modena Turner, performed well. The group approved $500 for the Tiger Band uniform fund and $100 for playground and bus loading area improvements. Room count awards gave both first grade rooms $3 each. Next meeting is March 20 in the auditorium with program by second grade classes.
