Cleburne Youth Dies In Suicide At Family Home
Tommy Stewart 17 of Cleburne was found dead at home Saturday with a plastic bag over his face and a gas hose nearby. Peace Justice Alf Bowers ruled the death a suicide after an inquest. Surviving are his parents Ger ald and Mildred Stewart, three sisters and a grandmother. Funeral held Monday at Dillon-Emmett with burial in Kimball Cemetery.

Glen Rose Somervell County Chamber of Commerce members cast 225 votes to name Wallace Dove Bob Miles and Johnny Martin to three year terms on the chamber board. Retiring directors are Carroll Gann Mrs Joe Don Echols and Mrs Joy Brooks. Hold overs are Zack B Buzz Evans George Hudson Logan H Walker Bob Bullock Temple Summers and Jack McCarty. Walker was reelected president Evans vice president and Mrs Eugene Connally secretary treasurer at a Friday meeting. Next board meeting is Thursday March 4 at 3 30 p m at the chamber office to discuss projects and committees.

Waldrop Rites Held in Monahans
Waldrop of Monahans died Monday after leg surgery last week at a local hospital. His wife Pauline Snyder Waldrop is critically ill after a stroke suffered at home after Thanksgiving. Mrs Snyder and her son George Jr. traveled from here to Monahans for the funeral held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church with burial in Monahans Cemetery.

Area Musicians to Memorialize Herschel Simmons Couple
Fiddlers and stringed instrument musicians from this section will perform at the high school auditorium Saturday night in a memorial program for Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Simmons who died in a local auto accident last year. Sponsored by the Somervell County Historical Society, the event starts at 7 30 P M with admission of 1 00 per person. Proceeds aid an appropriate memorial honoring the couple’s musical contributions.
