One Dead Four Hurt In Weekend Wrecks In Texas
A weekend pair of motor vehicle crashes left John Martin Mooney 24 of Morgan dead at hospital and four others injured. Clyde French of Lakeside Village suffered head injuries and hip and leg fractures after a Fiat ran off Farm Road 202 into a yard. In the second crash on US 67 near Brazos River bridge, James Robert Woods of Cleburne and Walter Plumhoff of Burleson were involved. Plumhoff and Sheila Lowrey escaped injury while Everit Ray Adams and Verna Adams were treated locally. Funeral services for Mooney were held in Meridian with burial in Kopperl Cemetery.

Water Flows Into New Reservoir Near City
Work began Tuesday to fill Squaw Creek Reservoir from Lake Granbury to supply cooling water for the Comanche Peak nuclear station. The 3,200 acre facility in Somervell and Hood counties will take about three years to fill with pumping rates depending on inflow. owners include Texas Electric Service, Texas Power & Light, and Dallas Power & Light.
