The new $76,000 high school gym opens next week with a girls basketball playoff and features modern, fireproof facilities and automatic scoring clocks.

Sheriff Bone Returns With Escapees
Somervell County Sheriff Paul Bone brought back two jail escapees to Glen Rose from California. Bobby Lester Stanley 25 of San Antonio and Albert Lambeth 21 of Stephenville had surrendered in Auburn California. Johnny Lee Hill 18 of Cleburne was captured in Stockton California while burgling a case and will remain there to face burglary charges. Leroy Moore 29 remains at large, jailed for escaping the Oklahoma State penitentiary.

About 30 persons attended a Monday meeting on planting and care of fruit trees in the Agriculture room. Speakers included Tom Denman of the West Texas Cross Timbers Experiment Station Stephenville and J K Johnson Jr president of the Texas Peach Growers Assn.
