More than 100 West Texas civic leaders gathered Friday at Glen Lake Methodist Camp for the West Texas Chamber of Commerce Task Force meeting. Unexplained Inventory Loss in Fort Worth Bankruptcy

In U S Bankruptcy Court in Fort Worth Hobart A Hunter faced two days of testimony on a $70,000 inventory loss. Referee John C Ford recessed the hearing to Thursday Feb 23 as Leonard A Meador projected ending 1966 inventories at $155,924 versus $85,000 on filings. Hunter promised accounting analyses to be available to the trustee.

Fort Worth Funeral Attended by Local Residents

Carroll Gann Named Glen Lake Camp Director

Carroll Gann of Azle aWhitman Publishing Co. commercial artist from Racine Wisconsin is named superintendent of Glen Lake Methodist Camp replacing Tom Voss who left to head Ceta Canyon Camp near Happy Texas. Gann will start March 1. He is a Stoneberg native who attended Victoria College. his wife is Henrietta born and a Glen Rose resident they plan to be active in civic affairs.

Grandson of Local Residents Receives Purple Heart

First Lt. Danny J. Watkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo F. Watkins of Fort Worth and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest E. Watkins of Glen Rose, earned the Purple Heart for injuries from a Vietnam action when his tank hit a mine. He called his grandparents from Hawaii where he rested with his wife. The Watkinses also hosted another grandson, Leo F. Watkins Jr., visiting from Homestead AFB, Florida, who recently returned from a 12 month Korea tour.

ACP Cost Limit Raised for Cost-Share Program

Iva E. Aston Somerville County ASCS office manager announced the ACP cost-share maximum rose from $700 to $1,000 per person or per farm. Farmers may apply at the ASCS office for cost shares up to this amount for approved practices anytime before starting work.

Leadership Is The Real Need Of Small Towns

National FFA Week Observance Planned By Local Chapter

Senior Class members plan a car wash at Bill Mullen Texaco Station this Saturday with pickup and delivery. Proceeds will help defray senior trip expenses as Glen Rose FFA joins Texas chapters in National FFA Week from Saturday through Feb 25 proclaimed by Gov. Connally. Houghtelling Admitted To V A Hospital Dallas

A A Houghtelling was admitted to the Veterans Hospital in Dallas Thursday of last week for medical treatment. He and Mrs. Houghtelling recently returned from Jacksonville Florida where they visited their son Patrick and family. Sheriff Speck Strawn reports a vehicle ran from the curb early Sunday crashing into a chain link fence in front of Jerre Deason storage shed and lot. two heavy steel posts were bent and a cedar post broke. The fence was ruined, a nearby used refrigerator suffered minor damage. No vehicle trace was found as of press time. Copy deadline for Reporter is 2 p.m. Tuesdays.
