Man Hurt In Mishap On Highway 67 Near Rainbow
Oscar Moreno of Del Rio suffered serious head injuries in a one car crash on Highway 67 near Rainbow while en route to Glen Rose. The vehicle left the road, struck a culvert, no rollover, Moreno transported to Peter Smith Hospital Fort Worth in critical condition. Texas State Trooper Bob Brock led the investigation.

A burglar entered Glen Rose Auto Repair through a rear window between Monday night and Tuesday morning and stole two air impact wrenches sockets air conditioning testing equipment and assorted hand tools from owner Carl Simmons. The thief or thieves appeared selective taking only high quality tools. no cash or auto parts were taken. Simmons offers a reward for information leading to an arrest.

The rural home of Mr. and Mrs. John Dooley near Nancy Smith Cemetery in Crossroads burned Sunday morning. The three bedroom two bath house was a total loss and the fire reportedly started in the bathroom. Mrs. George Dempsey visited Carthage last week with the H P Long family.

Burnet Coach Is Honored By Yearbook Dedication
Burnet High School honors Coach Robert Underwood, longtime educator and athletic leader, with a yearbook dedication. A 1954 Glen Rose graduate, Underwood played football in high school, earned a North Texas State University degree, coached at Kerens and Wilmer-Hutchins, and led Burnet as head basketball coach from 1967. His 1974 75 teams were undefeated, and his son Long played on the 1975 squad. He also serves as fire department president and commander of an Austin unit.
