The Veterans' Land Board received 741 bids on 53 tracts of forfeited land offered for sale from 56 tracts. High bids totaled 325,917.47 with the top bid of 9,505 by Thomas C. Watkins for 103.35 acres in Rockwall County. A 640-acre tract in Cottle County drew 74 bidders as 4,621.20 acres were bid overall, averaging 70.53 per high acre. The board members Earl Rudder L. E. Six youths confess to seven burglaries in county case
Six teenaged boys admitted their roles in seven burglaries carried out on four dates. Five cabin burglaries on the O Neal place near the Brazos were reported early Sunday and Monday with confessions to the five thefts and to the Corner Drug and White Auto Store break ins. Sheriff's deputies arrested four boys and two were picked up in Cleburne. all were released to their parents. The cases will be presented to the Grand Jury when it is empaneled.
