Sam Freas and the Somervell County Historical Society have prepared the Cole Building for the museum’s reopening by Labor Day weekend. They moved items from the Abernathy building and store them while renovation continues, celebrating a site that has drawn 15 293 signers since May 14, 1966, plus visitors from 16 foreign countries and 44 states.

Locals Place In Swine Show In Dallas Area
Mark Flanary son of Mr and Mrs Eddie Flanary and Delbert Timmerman son of D O Timmerman placed fourth and fifth in the Sears Dallas area swine show held in Denton Friday. Mark's animal finished fourth among 15. Delbert's boat finished fifth in his class. All entries were winners in county swine shows conducted two weeks prior. Youth Injured In Cycle Mishap In Local Collision
A motorcycle driven by 14 year old Joey Reynolds collided with a 1967 Chevrolet driven by 16 year old Flavis Fluitt at Barnard and Grace, injuring Reynolds who is in serious condition at Harris Hospital Fort Worth after leg fractures and a deep leg wound. Burglars Strike Mullen’s Texaco Station
Sheriff Speck Strawn said burglars broke a window on the south side of Mullen’s Texaco Service Station to gain entry Friday night or Saturday morning. They stole 12 cartons of cigarettes, chewing gum, a small radio, a lawn mower, and about $40 in change. All but one package of cigarettes and the money were recovered, found cached in a burrow ditch along Highway 144 near Walnut Springs. No arrests had been made.

McCann's TV Recovered in Cleburne Raid
A color TV stolen weeks earlier from Tom McCann's ranch home was found Thursday morning last week by Sheriff Speck Strawn in a garage apartment in Cleburne. Police recovered other items from recent burglaries and an 18 year old youth was arrested on charges of receiving and concealing stolen goods.
