The Central Texas Methodist Conference will host its annual lay retreat at Glen Lake Camp Glen Rose on August 23 to 25 with speakers including E Stanley Jones renowned missionary and author. Bishops, lay leaders, and ministers will lead talks on spiritual growth evangelism and stewardship of life with group discussions and worship led by local pastors and music directors.

The 1963 Glen Rose Tigers start workouts Monday with daily drills until school begins. Twelve Canadian Girl Guides joined Cedar Brake Girl Scout Camp visitors and a group of 13 Little League players with sponsors stayed three days. Four family reunions occurred, and Mr. and Mrs. A. L.
