Walnut Springs residents honor civic women for funding a new water well with a federal grant. Two Car Collision Injures Three In Local Crash
A head on crash on Highway 144 at 12 10 a m Sunday sent three occupants to hospitals. Connie Reynolds and Mrs Her shel Brownen both from this community suffered serious injuries and were treated at Harris Hospital Fort Worth. Reynolds had multiple fractures and a punctured lung while Brownen had a broken jaw and other injuries. Both are reported as doing as well as could be expected. Deputy Sheriff Joe Culp reported another incident when Tom C East and Wanda East rode a motorcycle that skidded on oil on Highway 144 near Gabe's Grocery. They escaped serious injury and were observed then released.

Kentucky man jailed on charges Saturday
Avery Brooksher of Paducah, Ky., was arrested Saturday by Deputy Sheriff Mike Culp and jailed on impersonation and operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. He paid a $17.50 fine and was released the next day in Peace Justice H. C. Polley’s court. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Hart visited in Arkansas with son and daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hart of Arlington during a weekend trip to Hot Springs.

Bone arraignment set in murder case over city shooting
Larry P. Bone, 23, of this city, was arraigned in the 18th District Court on a murder charge for the Feb 15 shooting death of Louis Carlton Carroll, 21, who was in his car near the courthouse square. Bone entered a not guilty plea and is held without bond in Johnson County jail after transport from Parker County.
