U S Air Force Technical Sergeant Clevon Baysinger of Seymour Johnson AFB is named Outstanding Maintenance Man for his unit. his wife Stilla is daughter of Mrs. Sarah Scott of Gladewater. Baysinger served in World War II and Vietnam, attended Carthage High School. Marine Lance Corporal William D. Brunson, son of Kilgore couple, participates in NATO exercise Deep Express aboard USS Guam in the Mediterranean with over 3,000 Marines. Navy Petty Officer Third Class Don K. Bolsins, husband of Gladewater resident Becky Bolsins, advanced aboard USS Kawishiwi in the Western Pacific. Navy Petty Officer Reed S. Webb, husband of Virginia Snyder of Longview, reports aboard USS Davis at Newport, Rhode Island after recommissioning in 1970.
