Early American Desk in Texas History and Notable Americana
A Texas family preserves an 1853 East to Texas desk with ivory keyhole, walnut doors, and pegs, kept in a Varro County log cabin near Kerens. The piece sits among a 1812 library and Britannica edition, while the story also notes Everette DeGolyer and Lon Tinkle’s new Mr De biography. The Gilmer Buckeye football team suffered a theft in Liberty Eylau, and a Massachusetts and Wisconsin note highlights odd eating laws alongside local quirks.
