The E. W. Buckelew home welcomed relatives and friends Sunday as they reunited after more than 25 years. Visitors included Mrs. Allie Buckelew and daughter Linnie of Quitaque, Mrs. Lizzie Rucker of Baytown, and numerous Buckelews from Tyler and Gladewater, among others.

Members of the Jeter Circle of the Women’s Society of Christian Service gathered Tuesday at 9:30 in the home of Mrs. Calvin Brannen 506 East Lake Drive. Mrs. Ola Jeter led the devotional from Acts 10:1-4 and spoke on Vigimetts Missions in Latin America.

The letters between Hanff, a witty New Yorker, and Frank Doel and staff reveal shared humor, bookish devotion, and gifts across wartime rationing. Doel's death in 1968 ends the correspondence, just before reports of demolition and closure due to redevelopment.
Members of the Stewart Circle of the Womens Society of Christian Service gathered Tuesday morning at Mrs O C Browns Hickory Street home with 13 in attendance.
