Death ruled from own action in Mills case
Justice of the Peace Charles Cashell ruled death self inflicted in the Thursday death of Shirley Ann Mills 32 of Dallas at her home on North Main Street. Police found a .38 pistol near the body and Mills had a gunshot wound to the right temple. Funeral services were held at 10 30 a m Saturday at Malcolm Stone Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Gladewater Memorial Park Cemetery. Mills born May 10 1943 in Gladewater was a schoolteacher. She is survived by her mother a brother and other relatives.

Burglars make big haul here

City Receives Police Grant for Field Reporting Equipment
