Gladewater Rotarians hosted six Australian exchange visitors who heard three Gladewater High School finalists in the Four Ways Test contest. Patsy Floyd won first place earning a district competition spot. Ricky Webb won first place in another local division with a $250 scholarship. Other local winners included Vicki Abernathy and Jim McCrummen. Senator Ralph Hill will visit by helicopter Monday at 12:50 pm to view downtown Gladewater. A separate report notes a Rochester NY researcher predicting a low-emission car within five years.
