Tax board reports mineral value drop offsets via equipment gains
The three member city tax equalization board met and heard consultant Prichard & Abbott report another year of about one million dollars lost in mineral tax value from oil well depletion within city limits. Gains in production equipment offset the loss, with equipment value rising from 100 000 to 150 000 and condensate gas valued at 500 000 to 600 000. Overall mineral values unofficially fell to 300 000 to 400 000 for the year while valuations remained unchanged by the board.
