Two Longview Students Expelled Return Pending Appeal

Ray Scurlock Rites Held After Sudden Lake Fishing Death
Funeral services were conducted Monday at the First United Methodist Church for Ray Erwin Scurlock 56 who died suddenly while fishing at Lake o the Pines. He hadde been a Gladewater resident for 40 years and longtime Warren Petroleum employee. He served in the U S Army during World War II and was active in church and civic groups. He is survived by his wife Kathryn a son Steve a daughter Sharon his mother Mrs Huby Featherhoff a brother Bain Seurlock and a sister Louise Seurlock.

City Council Eyes Survey Plan For Waterworks Update
At a breakfast meeting the city council tentatively agreed to hire BLL, Nelson & Associates to survey and update the waterworks master plan. The study will outline immediate needs and five to twenty year projections to meet state regulations. The action awaits the next regular meeting on March 14.
