John Rex Franklin 80 Dies. Rites Set Sunday
John Rex Franklin of Gladewater and Rt. 2 died Friday at 1 15 am after a short illness. Funeral services are at 2 pm Sunday at Locust Grove Baptist Church with Rev. J A Allen and Rev. Leslie Dyer. burial at Locust Grove Cemetery. He was a WW I veteran, retired farmer, member of Westside Baptist Church, survived by widow Pauline, son Julian R. Franklin, daughter Ellen J. Johnston, sister Decia Hartzog, 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Langley rites held Saturday for Mrs Irma Langley
Funeral services for Mrs. Irma Lee Langley 64 were held Saturday at 11 in Malcolm Stone Funeral Chapel. Murphy Phillips Jr minister of Quitman and Center Church of Christ officiated. She died Thursday at 5 pm in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. Born October 5 1911 in Prairieville Texas she lived in Gladewater nine years and was a Church of Christ member. Survivors include her mother Ada Wilson four sisters Opal Hicks Plano Katie Ferguson city Joel Cox and Lucille Dunn Ore City a brother Leo A Wilson Belen New Mexico and several nieces and nephews.
