Funeral services for Augusta Elizabeth Todd 92 were held Saturday at 10 in Malcolm Stone Funeral Chapel with Dr. Ben R. Stripling officiating. Burial followed in Rosedale Cemetery. Mrs. Todd, lifelong Gladewater resident, died Thursday after a sudden illness in a local hospital. She leaves two daughters, an uncle, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Rotary club hears Kilgore center briefing on Region 7 services
Assistant director Dr. Wayne Berryman outlined the Region 7 Education Service Center at Kilgore with offices in Nacogdoches and Tyler serving 17 counties and 102 districts. He described the center as an intermediate agency between the Texas Education Agency and schools offering curriculum and instruction support, media services, and a 1.8 million dollar 1975 76 budget, with 96 employees and over 2 000 training programs this year.

Texas Comptroller mails $13.4 million in July city rebates
Comptroller Bob Bullock sent checks totaling 13.4 million to 535 Texas cities and towns as the July rebate from the one cent city sales tax. He cited a first quarter 1976 Texas gross retail sales figure of 28.3 billion, up sharply from 1975 and 1974. The rebate total for 1976 thus far is 158.8 million, about 13 percent ahead of 1975.

Truck crash injures three near Martha Drive
An accident at 11 50 a m Thursday involved a 1957 Chevrolet pickup from the Gladewater Independent School District that left Martha Drive and hit an oak near 700 Martha Drive injuring three occupants. Driver Anthony Williams 15 remained under observation. Cathy Clark 17 and Earnestine Johnson 16 were hospitalized and later treated.
