Methodist women in Gladewater held a joint program in Jeter Hall observing the annual Call to Prayer and Self Denial. Peggy Hasley wrote the pilgrimage The Quiet Day Our Life Together A Pilgrimage. Mrs Mary Haberling welcomed members and pledge cards were distributed.

Mrs Elwanda Walker administrator at Oak Manor Nursing Home spoke to the January meeting at Mrs C C Blalock's home. Co hostess was Mrs Robert Young. Members discussed helping nursing home residents and distributing lap robes made from scraps provided by Mrs Blissett after a box from Honey Toys. February meeting set for the 6th at 1 30 p.m. at Mrs Troxel's home. Hosts served lemon cheese cake toasted nuts coffee and hot chocolate to several members.
