Varied action taken at regular council meet

The city council met Thursday night and authorized notifying the bonding company over Par Utilities Project delays. Begun November 1972, the sewer work remains incomplete in several city areas due to heavy rainfall. Oldest maternity patient Mollie Boles shares wisdom at Mother Frances

Mollie Boles, 88, the oldest patient in Tyler Texas hospital maternity ward, underwent major abdominal surgery and stays in room 397. Her granddaughter says she is recovering well and still giving advice to new mothers. Doctors call her heart that of a 50 year old.

Helen Pierce Gregg native dies in Tyler

Funeral services were held Friday for 61 year old Helen Pierce who died Wednesday night in a Tyler hospital after a short illness. Born Nov 29 1912 in Longview she lived in Gregg County all her life. Interment in Memory Park Cemetery Longview followed at 1 p.m. Survivors include a daughter a sister her father and a grandson. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers named from local community and medical staff.
