Gladewater Police Reorganization and Pay Plan Unveiled
Police Chief E J Banks disclosed a general order reorganizing the Gladewater police department with a new job classification and pay plan plus a bi annual performance and efficiency rating system. Effective Sept 1 pay raises range from 576 to 730 dollars monthly. Dispatchers become civilian employees titled dispatcher I and II with no pay change. A new Senior Police Sergeant oversees line operations and investigations while assisting the chief and acting in his absence. The assistant chief gains control of the service division and payroll records duties pending a records office setup.
