The longtime Gilgandra District resident Stephen Smithers died at Gilgandra District Hospital on 14th inst at age 80 after a long period of poor health. He came from Tuona Creek in the Goulburn district and worked in mining as a boy. He is survived by four children and his brother Chas Smithers of Baan Baa. funeral was at 10.00 am Friday at the Church of England section of Gilgandra Cemetery with Rev W J Hudson officiating. funeral arrangements by A H Bloss.
