Sue Township Permit Fight for Two Car Garage
A Chambersburg couple, Kermit and Inna Meals, sue Franklin Township supervisors Gene Williams Arthur Hossman Timothy Kane and building officer Clyde Topper in Adams County Court. They seek a building permit for a two car garage on Rt 30 claiming a 35 foot road setback is met by a 1974 ordinance, and ask the court to compel Topper to issue the permit and stop the hold on the project. The township says the garage violates the 1973 setback rule and could invite commercial facilities along the highway.
