Donald Turner Dies Printer for 42 Years

Donald A. Turner 63 of 32 W Water St a long time Gettysburg Times printer died Friday at Warner Hospital after cancer diagnosis. Born Feb 6 1915 in Emmitsburg he served in the Navy 1942 45 aboard USS Norman Scott. Survived by wife Violet Keefover two daughters in Newark Del two grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral arrangements are by Peters Funeral Home with flowers omitted.

Governor's Committee on Employment of the Handicapped Meet Here

Man Charged In Accident Here Today

A Scotland man, Gregory D. Gentz, was charged with reckless driving after losing control on Baltimore Street near Steinwehr Avenue and striking a fence, a sign, a telephone pole, and a tree by the Gulf Station. Minor injuries were reported. severe damage to the car. Two other accidents on Friday involved Lester Grove and Michael Spahr in incidents on Baltimore Street near Stock Alley and the courthouse area.

Will The Postmen Accept Settlement

Washington AP reports the five month postal labor dispute is legally settled but rank and file unions may reject it. The arbitration decision by James J. Healy is final, yet two major unions plan ratification votes to let members have a say. Results expected in about a month. If the vote fails, a possible illegal nationwide strike could occur. J Joseph Vacca, president of the letter carriers' union, says a strike could be called if the vote rejects the arbitration.

Hay Bale Fire Damages $2200 In Emmitsburg Orchard Road

Fire destroyed about 1500 bales of new hay owned by Leo J. Spenla on Orchard Road near Liberty Journehip Rt. 313. State Police Investigate Six Accidents Overnight

State police at Gettysburg report six crashes since Friday afternoon with three people hurt.
