McSherrystown Senior Center Faces Possible Closure
About 30 McSherrystown seniors protested to the Adams County Office for Aging asking it to run the town's senior center which is slated to close October 1 for lack of funding. CFNP staffer Rita Deutsch said the center began in April 1977 as a pilot project with $23,000 from the Community Services Administration and has since seen funding priorities shift. She warned CSA funds for another year are unlikely and a decision will not come before Oct. 1. roughly 60 elders currently receive meals at the center.

Court Orders Klunk Office Reopened
Judge Oscar Spicer ordered the office of Magistrate T Carrell Klunk be reopened though Klunk remains under suspension.
