Gettysburg police report eleven potted plants worth 75 dollars taken from a porch on Water Street overnight Thursday. Bessie Yingling reported the theft early Friday. The spate of porch plant thefts continues through the summer, with thieves targeting attractive pots at night.

An Upper Adams girl Christina Kump of Aspers R1 and her grandmother Mrs John Herman of Aspers R1 won top honors in flower judging at the South Mountain Fair. Christina received best of show for a gladiolia and her grandmother earned best of show for a Boston fern in house plants. Two Injured In Area Traffic Crashes Reported
Two motorists were admitted to area hospitals after crashes handled by state police Friday and today. Mark J. Wivell 25 Gettysburg FR 2 is in serious condition in York Hospital ICU after a Honda motorcycle crash on Boyd Schoghouse Road three miles north of town at 6 p.m. Friday. he was transported by Gettysburg Fire Dept ambulance with local firemen assisting. Sandra L. Hartman 31 of York is treated at Warner Hospital after her 1975 Jeep slammed into a tree on Zeigler Maine near Biglerville at about 1:35 a.m. today. hospital staff would not release information on her condition.
