Conewago Policeman Fired By Township
Conewago Township officials dismissed Patrolman Marvin Incore Jr. of McSherrystown amid controversy sparked by a tip from a neighboring department. The inquiry cited his help at the Oct. 22 accident that killed New Oxford patrolman James A. Redding in Oxford Township. Police Chief Dennis Hagerman declined further comment, saying Incore is no longer with the Conewago Two.

Mervin B Bishop 97 of 1225 Baltimore Street Dillsburg died at 6 30 am at his daughter's home where he had lived since moving from Natural Dam area. Born in Thomasville he farmed near Natural Dam for about 90 years and served as Gettysburg School Director for 20 years. Funeral Wednesday at Monahan Funeral Home with Rev Ivan Naugle officiating and burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 7 to 9 pm.

Swerves To Miss Deer Driver Flips Car In Crash
Gettysburg resident Kurl Lee Shanoltz escaped injury when his 1968 Dodge hardtop overturned after swerving to avoid a deer on Route 134.4, about a mile and a half south of here, at 1 30 am Sunday. Cumberland Township police and Gettysburg firefighters assisted at the scene as the car, heavily damaged, rolled onto its roof.

Vandals damage cars on W Middle St and more incidents
Vandals punctured two tires on a Gettysburg Borough vehicle owned by Stephen Black and damaged a windshield on a car owned by Robert Gilbert. Also reported were an emblem stolen from Tom McKinney’s car and two-vehicle crashes on N Washington St and Chambersburg St with minor to moderate damages. Police estimated about 2160 in damages from the tire vandalism.

Pinkney Hess Dies in Gettysburg World War II Veteran
Pinkney B Hess 80 of the Refactory Gettysburg died Sunday night at his home. Born in Adams County he was son of Charles B Hess and Anna Ridinger Hess. He belonged to St James Lutheran Church and worked at Gettysburg Furniture and York Hanover companies. A World War II veteran he served in the Albert J Lentz American Legion Post 22 and the Gettysburg Senior Citizens. Survived by one son James C Hess three grandchildren a brother Selmar W Hess and a sister Mrs Key Bietler. Funeral services Tuesday at 3 pm at Monahan Funeral Home Gettysburg Rev E Edward Keyser officiating Interment in Gettysburg National Cemetery Friends may call Tuesday 2 pm until service.

Judge Won't Lift Injunction On Mrs Kuhn
Adams County judge Homer L. Kreider refused to lift the January 1977 injunction preventing Ada Christine Kuhn of 701 Highland Ave Gettysburg from removing her husband Harry W. Kuhn's property from their home.
