World’s Strongest Men Tour Gettysburg for World Meet
More than 230 weightlifters from 47 nations arrive for the World Weightlifting Championships at Gettysburg College. Delegations include up to 30 men with interpreters as they tour town, buy souvenirs, and snap photos of Americana. The event, sponsored by the Gettysburg Optimist Club with AAU and IFW F, runs Wednesday through Sunday with final winners honored then.

Parking Ban Planned on Wednesday in Gettysburg
Borough manager Charles E Kuhn announced a Wednesday parking ban on South Washington Street between Middle and Chambersburg Streets for a major repaving project.
