Utility Pole Sheared Off In Accident
A two-vehicle crash Monday on Rt 116 two miles west of Gettysburg sheared a utility pole and demolished a car but caused no injuries. Frank Dapski Jr. 37 of Rockville Md tried to pass James Stephenson 27, of Biplerville, and his 1978 Fiat collided with Dapski’s 1976 Ford. The Fiat ran off the road and struck a pole, light damage to Stephenson’s car. State police also reported a non-injury crash on Rt 330 near Orttanna, where Jean Huff 19 and Gerald Golden 48 sustained extensive and moderate damage respectively in a tire-related collision.

York Springs Man Found Liable in Land Sale Dispute
In Adams County court Judge Oscar F Spicer found Frank E Breitman liable for 36 60 in damages to Robert G and Melainie J Helm who claimed breach of an agreed sale of land in May 1977. The Helms testified they paid 125 for a percolation test 197 11 for surveying 13 township fee and miles driven to the Latimore Twp property while Breitman denied agreeing to sell and stated no down payment was given. The judge awarded repayment for these costs but not interest or additional claimed damages.

Borough Police Probe Two Vehicle Crashes
Borough police investigated two separate crashes Monday. At 3 5 am a westbound vehicle on Chburg St operated from 14 Buford Ave collided with a westbound car on nbersburg St driven by Steven J Monforte of 34 N Straiton St. Monforte’s car pulled over to make a turn, causing a minor collision with the other vehicle. Both cars sustained light damage. A second incident at 2 pm involved Joseph Weigle of 321 Village Dr backing from a driveway and striking a parked car owned by Jeffrey Flanders of New Oxford.
