Financial Disclosure Law May Keep Many Countians From Running For Local Offices
A new public officials ethics law in Pennsylvania aims to compel full disclosure of personal finances for candidates and state and local officials. Enacted by Gov Milton J Shapp, Act 150 requires disclosure for candidates and public employees before compensation, though the School Boards Association urges narrowing this to protect school directors. The act takes effect January 4, 1979, with certain provisions for state employees delayed to January 1, 1980. The law may deter local candidates and prompt resignations among school directors and other officials before terms end.

Sisters Injured In Rash Of County Road Accidents
Two sisters from Meesherrystown were injured Sunday afternoon on Rt 9 near Peters Fruit Stand north of York when another vehicle collided with their car.
