Confederate descendant donates Gettysburg Wall of Faces photo

L L Meredith Jr of Dinwiddie Virginia visits Gettysburg National Military Park to donate photos of his father Lucas Lewis Meredith Sr and his uncle who served in the Civil War. The Wall of Faces exhibit will add their biographies to honor soldiers who fought at Gettysburg and remind visitors of the human side of war.

Hubcaps charity concert at Gettysburg YWCA venue

The Hubcaps, a seven member nostalgia band known for 50s and 60s rock and roll, perform Friday Nov 23 at 7 30 p m in Gettysburg Junior High auditorium to raise funds for the Gettysburg YWCA. Proceeds go to the YWCA with Times & News Publishing co co sponsoring. Tickets 20 seating, 12 general, 8 children 12 and under available at local outlets.

Adams County forms Drug Task Force to target pushers

Adams County District Attorney Roy A. Keefer announced the creation of the Adams County Drug Task Force at a county commissioners meeting. Eight municipal officers from five towns will investigate drug traffickers, collaborating with state and local police and Gettysburg College for space and equipment. The task force will be led by Trooper Craig Fenstermacher, a veteran narcotics officer with the Pennsylvania State Police.

Convicted dealer's property to fund drug task force

About $15,000 of the $30,000 in real estate seized from Gettysburg cocaine dealer Coy King will be used to fund the Adams County Drug Task Force, with 50 percent of sale proceeds to the state and county. King, 58, pleaded guilty on November 2, 1989, and sentenced to 15 to 36 months. The case stemmed from a December 4, 1989 raid that found cash and cocaine, including $7,850 cash in a Lincoln in the adjacent garage.

Littlestown mid dle school hearing on 5.1 million project

Littlestown Area School District holds a special meeting tonight at Maple Avenue Middle School gym to hear residents' comments on a proposed 5.1 million construction project. Superintendent Smarsh says the Act 34 hearing informs citizens about education, budgetary and fiscal aspects of the renovation and complies with the Public School Code.

Zamboni to Face Death Penalty in Homicide Case

Adams County DA Roy A Keefer announced the Commonwealth will seek the death penalty against Bryan William Zamboni in a July 9 shooting outside his East Berlin home. Israel B Figaro 35 of Aspers was killed and Adolfo Bravo of Biglerville wounded. Trial set for Dec 10.
