Clay attempted a soft landing in a freshly ploughed wheat field after fuel issues. The craft touched down on a wheel, shed a wheel, then flipped onto its roof. Propane Explosion Burns York Couple Camping Here
Kenneth Fas, 35, and Evelyn Fahs, 36, of York were critically burned when a propane stove exploded in their two room Round Top Camp Grounds trailer near Gettysburg. Fire officials say gas buildup occurred during attempts to light the oven, catching Mrs Fahs near the stove as flames charred the trailer interior. The couple were treated at Warmers Hospital then the Maryland burn center. fire crews contained the blaze after about an hour.

Blair Dies Was WGET Chief Engineer in Gettysburg
Lester M. Blair, 62, longtime chief engineer of Radio Station WGET, died Sunday at Warner Hospital. A Gettysburg native, he served in the Army 1941–45, trained as a radio engineer, and helped expand WGET from 250 to 1100 watts, oversee the WGET FM stereo station, and oversee new station quarters. He was married to Evelin M. Pentz and had a history in Harrisburg schools and New Cumberland High School.

Tire slashing incidents reported in Genysburg area
Genysburg Borough Police continued to investigate recent tire slashings with seven vehicles damaged over the weekend. Police asked for information from the public, noting three tires were slashed overnight in the Mackier's Exxon Service lot at 243 Steinwein Ave. The vehicles were owned by Barry J. Sease.
