Civil War reenactment of East Cavalry Field planned
About 500 Civil War buffs in uniform will reenact the East Cavalry Field battle Sunday at 2 PM on Cochran Family Kampground land along Hoffman Road. General Arthur Taylor will direct a two hour program with mounted troops cannons and dismounted units recounting Union General Gregg versus Confederate General Jeb Stuart actions on July 3 1863. A sutlers exhibit hoedown and 1863 fashion show are also planned at the 40 acre site with parking space available.

More Funds For MHR Activities In York Adams Area
The York Adams Mental Health Mental Retardation program will receive about 1.4 million dollars in state funds for the new fiscal year starting July with a 3 percent increase. An additional special allocation was noted for special programs. A Lancaster group's proposal to establish group homes for the mentally retarded was referred to committee. County commissioners plan to meet soon to select an MHR specialist to work with the York Adams Alcoholic Planning Implementation council.

Adams County approves 72000 bid for Bupps Mill bridge
Adams County Commissioners accepted a 72000 bid by Chester Chapman of Fairfield R. 6 for construction of a new 77 foot bridge over Bermudian Creek on T R 627 to replace the single lane Bupps Mill bridge. Two Crashes Knock Out Power Near Stuart's Motel
A $200 car truck collision on Business Route 15 three miles south of town cut electric power to nearby residents for a short time. James S. Lewis 17 Gettysburg R1 attempted to turn into Stuart's Motel while Richard J. Noel 28 Gettysburg R5 tried to pass on the left and struck Lewis. Noel's truck cracked a Met Ed pole causing a power outage. power was restored after pole replacement. A Maryland motorist sustained a minor injury in a separate Route 89 pole collision.

Lighted candle causes small fire. urges license-plate tips

Skylab Astronauts To Try Today To Place Sun Curtain

Police Free Girl From Upset Auto
Miss Margaret Myers a 19 year old Hanover resident was trapped when her late model 1972 Ford coupe overturned on an embankment and roofed in a field at L A 01089 west of New Oxford.
