Harrisburg AP reports inspector James Wise and geologist Chellurot Rao, both named in a statewide grand jury presentment, accused of shaking down five Cambria County coal operators over seven years. Gunmen Seize Central Bank of Barcelona in Hostage Crisis

Heavily armed gunmen seized Barcelona's Central Bank and threatened to kill 200 to 300 hostages unless right wing coup leaders are freed. A Barcelona paper cited a note demanding a plane to Argentina and claimed the assault aimed to finish Red terror. At least one person wounded. gunmen numbered about 20 to 25.
