Water Committee Plans Evening Session at Engine House
The citizens water committee resumes activity after a year’s inactivity and will meet at the engine house at 8 o’clock tonight chaired by James B. Aumen. Council members are asked to attend unofficially. An adjourned council meeting ordered borough solicitor J Donald Swope to pursue a hearing before the public service commission. The committee formed during the 1930 drought to address water supply against Gettysburg Water Company.

Palmer Heads County League Formed in Adams County
Co. Lloyd Palmer of Gettysburg was selected president of the newly formed Adams county baseball league Teague at a Hotel Gettysburg meeting. J. Warren Martin of Fairfield was elected secretary and treasurer. The league will use a split season format with a three game championship series between halves. Openings set May 28 for first half with July 9 start for second half and September 5 finish. Each team may roster eighteen players. league remains amateur. A six-member board will aid administration. A follow up meeting is planned next Thursday at Hotel Gettysburg for final opening preparations.
