Fairfield approves SCATCOM cable franchise approval

Fairfield Borough Council unanimously approved SCATCOM to establish construct and maintain a cable TV system for a ten year term renewable for ten more. Adams Electric sees dual use for load monitoring and possible rate savings, with a two year fee pause and operation start target within 18 to 20 months. Public comment was invited but none attended.

Reading Township approves Deer Park Estates subdivision plan

The Reading Township Supervisors gave final approval to an 86 unit Deer Park Estates subdivision on a 23.5 acre tract south of Hampton Route 4 with homes priced 30 000 to 35 000 and a 1.6 acre park plot to be donated. The board also hired Leroy Klinefelter as a part time officer and approved bids from Bethlehem Mines for road stones about 24900 and Service Supply for road oils about 30190.

Borough votes to extend reciprocal police pact with Biglerville

Arendtsville Borough Council unanimously approves continuing the shared officer arrangement with Biglerville noting consent from both towns. Upper Adams School Board Approves 1982 83 Budget
