Superintendent named for Fairfield Schools
Michael Noskalski a Selinsgrove elementary principal was chosen to succeed retiring Fairfield Schools superintendent Samuel McHenry on a four year 33000 per year contract. He will receive life health and medical insurance 12 sick days and 20 vacation days. Noskalski 36 and father of two daughters holds a BS from Slippery Rock MS from Pitt and EdD from Penn State and will live in the district. John Luntz voted No in a near unanimous vote amid other actions including a 350000 loan at 9.5 percent from Gettysburg National Bank and adding Dennis Mickley to substitute social studies teachers and moving Hamiltonian Township polling area to the new gym lobby.

Judge Oscar F. Spicer cancelled a March 16 hearing to decide if Fairfield School District and McCoy Brothers Inc. should arbitrate a $20 000 dispute over alleged unsatisfactory gym floor work. McCoy filed for arbitration and asked the judge to appoint three arbitrators. Spicer will appoint the panel as the contract lacked a method for selection. Fairfield’s solicitor John W. Beach says McCoy denies the claims and seeks their payment.

Several Seek Gettysburg Mayor Post in Borough Race
