The Bishop Lawrence Schott of Harrisburg dies Monday morning at Eisenhower Medical Center. His body lies in state at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning, with a solemn Requiem Mass to be said by Bishop Wil Del and staffed by multiple clergy. The body later transfers to Harrisburg cathedral for final rites led by Bishop Connare.

Man slips off without paying after motel stay in Gettysburg
Police investigate a man who used the alias Roy Collier at Gettysburg Motor Lodge on Monday night and left Tuesday morning without settling the bill. Red cherry outlook not bright says Hauser at banquet
John A. Hauser president of the C. H. Musselman Division of Pet Milk told more than 225 cherry and raspberry growers and wives the 1963 outlook is not good. He cited a national carryover of canned and frozen cherries of over a million cases and prices that are deplorably low. He warned against marginal growers expanding plantings and said Michigan cherries outpace local fruit in economy. The raspberry industry is described as good with a solid outlook.

The 109 piece Biglerville High School Band will travel to Dover, Delaware this weekend for two concerts at Dover High School. They perform a varied program directed by Richard P. Thompson. Dr Raymond F Sheely says 1960 Adams County residents received free chest x-rays from a mobile unit last week. The peak day saw 841 x-rays in Gettysburg. Results will be mailed after plate readings in about four weeks.
