Work on the Scharf Bigham building in downtown Gettysburg uncovers plaster notes from the 1800s. The site, part of a renovation turning the Hotel Gettysburg and Scharf Bigham into an 83 room hotel and conference center, yields graffiti including a fire report about Alleman’s warehouse burned on 2/28/06. Historian Elwood Christ notes the warehouse stood near the west edge of the parking lot.

Woman found guilty in Franklin Township junkyard case
Barbara Forsythe of 989 Bingaman Road Orrtanna was convicted Monday of violating the Franklin Township Junk Dealer and Junk Yard Ordinance by failing to obtain a license storing junk improperly and failing to meet yard and drainage standards.
