Eisenhower picnic draws 1600 at Gettysburg site

A 1600 strong crowd gathered at the Eisenhower National Historic Site near Gettysburg for a hometowners picnic recalling Ike era rallies. Attendees wore I Like Ike buttons, heard speeches and enjoyed a picnic lunch under sunny skies. The event, part of Eisenhower Centennial programs, honors the late president with support from the Centenial Hometowners Committee and Eisenhower Society.

Ike's grandson links Civil War to World War II

J David Eisenhower, Dwight D. Eisenhower's grandson, spoke at the Ike Centennial Hometowners picnic near Gettysburg arguing World War II restates the democratic principles of the Civil War. Kemp to speak at Gettysburg Anniversary Ceremony

Jack Kemp former HUD secretary will speak at the Gettysburg Address anniversary in Soldiers National Cemetery on November 19. The event, sponsored by the Lincoln Fellowship of Pennsylvania, will include a luncheon with an as yet unnamed speaker.
