Adams Electric Cooperative members at the South Mountain Fairgrounds re elected three directors to three year terms and urged lawmakers in Harrisburg to consider legislation on electric service. More than 700 members from Adams Cumberland York and Franklin counties attended the meeting where a chicken dinner fed 3 000. Directors reelected were George W. Glenn R 2 Zone One Adams County Henry E. Miller R 1 Zone 5 York County and Clare A. Kerns R 1 Zone 8 Cumberland County. The slate included Paul W. Dellinger Sr Earl E Shutt Stuart Sites Carroll Rohrbaugh and Eldon E Funk. W Kyle Trout the association president and John Kershaw reviewed H R 106 aimed at protecting electric utilities and stabilizing cooperatives finances. Treasurer Howard S. Schwartz presented the financial report and the association awarded 15 electrical appliances to members after the meeting.

Two Hurt In Farm Mishaps
A Gardners area girl Marsha Fetters 16 and Henry Swomley 55 Emmitsburg R2 were treated at Warner Hospital after farm equipment accidents over the weekend. Fetters suffered severe injuries including loss of a lower left arm from a tractor crash on her father’s farm and remained in hospital in satisfactory condition in intensive care.
