State Police Probe Four Crashes Injure York Motorcyclist
A York motorcyclist Robert Wile, 35, was hospitalized in satisfactory condition after a weekend sequence of four traffic crashes on county roads. Wile’s 1971 BSA motorcycle collided with a truck at Rt 30 and New Chester Rd near New Oxford, causing $1,200 damage while the truck suffered $900. Another crash on Rt 94 near Cross Keys involved 18 year old Chris Laughman as his late model coupe hit guard rails in a $4,600 mishap, with $4,300 to Laughman’s Buick and $300 to guard rails. A third incident on Rt 15 in Straban Twp. involved David Schweitzer, 21, whose Volkswagen flipped with undisclosed injuries. Police continued the probe.

Supreme Court rules states not required to fund elective abortions

Man Drowns at Stonehenge Pool in Cumberland Township
Alan W. Barry 59 drowned in an eight foot section of the Stonehenge pool Sunday evening. Coroner ruled accidental drowning. Witnesses said Barry entered the water from the east side while five men talked nearby. Firemen lit the area. body recovered by another swimmer. Barry, a Canadian-born Pittsburgh graduate, lived in College Park and was a former Royal Canadian Air Force member. Surviving wife Beatrice Thompson and two daughters. Memorial services planned at Berwyn Presbyterian Church in College Park.

Approximately 250 young men and women began summer employment today through the Youth Corps summer work program. The nine week program, administered by the State Employment Service, serves non profit groups including the National Park Service and local borough and township governments. Littlestown Man Jailed After Gunfire Incident
