Aspers Area Man Found Dead In Truck
Robert William Corbett 38 was found dead in the locked cab of his late model pickup in the garage at his Aspers area home. Coroner Dr Lefever ruled death by own action by asphyxiation after a gallon can of charcoal burned in the cab. Time of death listed as 12:01 this morning. Corbett, a Marine veteran, resided in Adams County his whole life and worked for Peter J Switzer Co. Surviving are his wife Myrtle Fahnestock a daughter Karen and a son Garry, plus two sisters. Funeral set for 10 Monday at Dugan Funeral Home Bendersville with burial in Bendersville Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday 7 to 9.

Sweet Cherries and Produce Prices at Farmers Market
Sweet cherries sell for 65 cents a quart box at the Farmers Market this morning. Strawberries go for 70 cents a quart, garden lettuce 25 cents a quart box, spring onions 15 cents a pound, rhubarb 30 cents a bunch, eggs 65 cents a dozen, York Imperial apples 50 cents a quarter peck and 75 cents a half peck, apple butter 45 cents a jar, and strained honey 55 cents a jar.

Four Injured By Accidents In County
Four people were injured in traffic accidents investigated by state police Friday and today. Frederick J. Myers, 29, East Berlin, was listed in satisfactory condition at Hanover Hospital after a 400 dollar collision on Route 94 near Gun Club Road. His Buick rear ended Nadine Swope's car, causing about 200 dollars damage to each vehicle. Belinda Kuhn, 16, and Deborah Kuhn, 19, both of York Springs R2, were hurt in a rear end crash on Route 94 four miles south of Hampton and were treated at Hanover Hospital for contusions.

John W Keiser 86 died this morning at his Cashtown home after long illness. He farmed and ran a wood business in Franklin Township and was a life member of Arendtsville and Cashtown fire companies. Survived by wife Alberta and children Bernice Irvin Bernadine Clapsaddle and Pes S Keiser, plus many grandchildren. Funeral at St Ignatius Loyola Church with Mass of Resurrection. interment in the church cemetery. Rosary at Monahan Funeral Home Monday.

Women in Crisis living history program at Meade's Headquarters
National Park Service will stage a Civil War living history program this summer at the Leister House Meade's Headquarters starting June 29. Female park employees will perform an eight daily show eight times a day from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. rotating four or five young women in period costumes to convey women’s Civil War experiences for visiting audiences.

Gettysburg Area Senior High School summer sessions start Monday at 8 am with nearly 100 students enrolled. Registration may continue through Tuesday. Farnsworth House Seeks LCB License in Gettysburg
Judge John A. MacPhail heard an appeal after the state Liquor Control Board denied a license for the Farnsworth House restaurant on Baltimore Street. The LCB said no license was needed in Gettysburg, noting seven existing licenses though the quota is three and proximity to Gettysburg High School raised concerns. The restaurant applied in January and was denied May 1, with local attorney Murray Frazee Jr. and Philadelphia attorney George Celain arguing the license under an exception.
